Fluency Practice: All students are asked to practice fluency at least 3 times a week using www.xtramath.org. Each student has their username and pin on a red sheet in the front of their agenda. If it asks for an email address, use: radiance.lewis@douglas.k12.ga.us

ELA
Overview: After finishing up our study of commas this week, we will start working with using underlining, quotation marks, or italics to indicate titles of works. Most of the students did well on Friday's assessment. Here are videos to review and preview the concepts for class.
Homework: Check Edmodo daily for updates and information.

Ms. Palmer's Classes
Math-This week we will focus on dividing with whole numbers and decimal fractions.

Assessments: Students will be assessed weekly based on information covered in the classroom. Students are more than welcome to take their math notebook home to use as a study tool.
Failing grades can be done over for partial credit.
Homework: Math homework will be assigned on Monday and will be expected to be turned in on Friday morning. I will not collect homework until Friday morning.
Students will be working on their first personal narrative story. We will go over the writing process, and practice ways to make our readers "Step into the Story."
Homework: This week students will receive a writing assignment.
Mr. Waters' Classes
Math- We have finished the first half of our first module, all about place value and working with decimals (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division) We will be continuing learning strategies to help with what we have already learned in class.Homework: Students will receive a packet of 3 pages front and back on Monday. It consists of all the work we will be doing this week and it will be due on Friday (or earlier!)
Failing grades can be done over for partial credit.
Science- We have an action packed week ahead of us in science. We will continue with learning about animal cells and how they compare to plant cells. On Tuesday students will be put into groups to research an organelle within a cell and will work to present their findings along with their group on Wednesday. We will have a quiz on Friday based on ALL of the information on cells; both plant and animal. Please make sure that your child brings their interactive notebook home to study with starting on Wednesday! Students will also have homework given to them Monday and due to me on Friday.

Math- Multiplying and dividing decimals . Daily math homework Monday through Thursday. Monday Lesson 10 Exit Ticket, Wednesday Lesson 11 exit ticket, Friday Lesson 12 Exit Ticket.Students should correct, and study any low grade exit tickets for a retake Tues-Fri 715-745
