This week will we begin with our Narrative Writing Unit. Students will take an On-Demand (Pretest) Assessment on Monday. Students will be learning how to write stories based on their own personal experiences. We will also begin writing constructive responses (Citing Evidence directly from a text)

Homework: This week students will receive a writing assignment.

Mr. Waters' Classes
Math- We have finished the first half of our first module, all about place value and working with decimals (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division)  We will be continuing learning strategies to help with what we have already learned in class.

Homework:  Students will receive a packet of 2 pages f/b on Monday.  It consists of all the work we will be doing this week and it will be due on Friday (or earlier!)

Be on the lookout for a weekly review that I have been developing. This is not considered homework as we do work on it together in class, but if you would like to see it your student should have it in their folder.  This is a graded assignment worth 10 points (5 bonus points if turned in early), and can really help your child's grade for the 9 weeks.  Please make sure that these are getting done and turned in.  I will be contacting you parents if more than 1 is missing for your child.

Science- We have an exciting week planned in science, we are going to learn the different parts of a microscope and then we will use microscopes to view different types of cells since that's what we've been doing in class.  We will be making "Cell"fies later this week, so make sure to have crayons/colored pencils/etc.  We will also be moving into animal cells and comparing/contrasting the differences between plant and animal cells.  There is a lot more vocabulary that we will be covering so please ask your child about what we have been talking about.  If you would like your child to bring their interactive notebook home  for you to look at please do!  Just make sure that it finds its way back ASAP so that they don't miss putting anything else in it!

Mr. Wooden's Classes
