Grammar/Writing
We will continue our Narrative Writing Unit this week. We discussed important people last week and will continue brainstorming and writing about important events and places this week. We are working on being able to build our writing stamina and generating ideas to write a narrative piece. We will continue to embed sentence structure and punctuation in our writing. Please encourage your child to journal at home.
Your child will be working on decimal numbers. Along with continuing with reading and writing numbers in standard, expanded and word form, he or she will be rounding, ordering and comparing decimal numbers as well.
Reading
Your child will be practicing Close Reading Strategies. Close Reading helps with Comprehension and is essential in the reading process. We are developing our grasp of the RACE strategy, which is a process used to answer Constructed Responses.
