Week of August 22nd

Mrs. Anderson's Classes
Math - Last week we worked with place value of mixed numbers and decimals.  We will continue to study place value and will begin studying rounding mixed numbers and decimals as well as ordering decimals.  Students should use the t-chart graphic organizer to help prove their responses.

Reading - Last week we discussed point of view, 1st and 3rd (limited and omniscient).  Essential questions include:  Who is telling the story?  Is the narrator a character in the story?  How does the narrator's point of view affect how the events are being described?  What is the difference between 1st person and 3rd person point of view?  What should the reader know about the character?
This week we will continue to study point of view as well as theme and main idea.
