Week of August 15th

Mrs. Anderson's Classes
Math - Last week we worked with place value of mixed numbers and comparing decimals.  We will continue to work with comparing decimals and start rounding of mixed numbers and decimals.  Students should used t-charts to help with comparing and rounding of decimals.

Reading - Last week we discussed point of view, 1st and 3rd (limited and omniscient).  Essential questions include:  Who is telling the story?  Is the narrator a character in the story?  How does the narrator's point of view affect how the events are being described?  What is the difference between 1st person and 3rd person point of view?  What should the reader know about the character? We will continue our study of point of view and begin to analyze theme versus main idea.
