Week of March 27th

Here is a link to a GMAS Practice Test that you can use at home with your child:

Mrs. Anderson's Classes

Math - This week we will focus on understanding coordinate plane, classifying two-dimensional figures and their properties (polygons, quadrilaterals, polygons, trapezoids, and hexagons), and ordering shapes in a hierarchy and coordinate planes.  We will also be in review mode for the upcoming GMAS.

Please help your child to prepare for the GMAS.  Continue to work hard by having your child practice daily.   TenMarks.com, IXL.com, and the EducationGalaxy.com are great websites for review.  Don't forget to get a sneak peak of the GMAS at the link listed above.

Failing grades can be done over for partial credit.

Mr. Waters' Classes
Math- We are finishing up our unit on volume and measurement and will be taking our test on TUESDAY, March 28!!  Students have a study guide that we have worked on in class and is very similar to the test that they will be taking. Later in the week we will begin working on finding and plotting points in the coordinate plane  using the x and y axis.
Here is a great resource to use for word problems for all topics we have discussed.
Failing grades can be done over for partial credit.

Science- We are continuing to work in Earth Science.  This is a very vocabulary heavy unit (26 words/terms).  Students have a vocabulary list that is homework to study each and every night.   Please make sure to review as much as possible as we go through this unit. Students will have more homework over the course of this unit so please be on the lookout!  There are a lot of new additions to our Symbaloo page and videos that you can view to help you understand better what we are doing in this unit. Your child should know how to log into this.

Students should be reading 15 minutes per day and recording it in their reading logs.  Continue to get agendas signed daily.  Students will need their agenda at school for class time restroom breaks.
