Math - We will work on dividing and multiplying whole numbers and decimal fractions. Practicing multiplication drills frequently is a must. Reading - We will discuss various text structures. The following text structures will be the focus: Chronology, Problem/Solution, Cause/Effect, and Compare/Contrast.
It is very important that students develop solid reading skills. I am teaching various strategies to improve reading comprehension. Please read with your child to help them find the joy in reading.

Fluency Practice: All students are asked to practice fluency at least 3 times a week using www.xtramath.org. Each student has their username and pin on a red sheet in the front of their agenda. If it asks for an email address, use: radiance.lewis@douglas.k12.ga.us

Ms. Palmer's Classes
Math-This week we will revisit multiplying and dividing decimal fractions.

Assessments: Students will be assessed weekly based on information covered in the classroom. Students are more than welcome to take their math notebook home to use as a study tool.
Failing grades can be done over for partial credit.
Homework: Math homework will be assigned on Monday and will be expected to be turned in on Friday morning. I will not collect homework until Friday morning.
We will also discuss how to include dialogue into our narrative writing.
Homework: Students will receive a homework sheet at the beginning of the week, and will have to turn it in on Friday.
Mr. Waters' Classes
Math- We will continue working with multi-digit multiplication as we progress, but we will still be working on review of module 1 material as our new material builds upon what we have already done. Homework: Homework is due the next day after being assigned, unless noted in the agenda.
Failing grades can be done over for partial credit.
Science- Organisms TEST FRIDAY OCTOBER 14!!! We have been discussing single and multi-celled organisms in class and their benefit or harm to humans the past 2 weeks. We will have a STUDY GUIDE go home for each student to study on Thursday and we will go over it in class together. Any student who brings in a completed study guide for the test will receive bonus points on their test score!
Mr. Wooden's Class
Math- Daily math homework Monday through Thursday. Monday Unit 2 Lesson 3-5 Problem set , Friday Lesson 3 Exit Ticket.
Students should correct, and study any low grade exit tickets for a retake Tues-Fri 715-745
Low grades you should retake? Turn in by Friday.
Social Studies- Unit 4 Reconstruction Key people and terms. Major events. 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments.
