Grammar/Writing
We will continue our Narrative Writing Unit this week. We discussed important people last week and will continue brainstorming and writing about important events and places this week. We will be focusing on the progression of their personal narrative. We will discuss details such as, details and adding transitions to help their story flow. We will also discuss different ways to conclude their paragraphs. Encourage your child to journal every night.
Your child will be working on decimal numbers. Along with continuing with reading and writing numbers in standard, expanded and word form, he or she will be rounding, ordering and comparing decimal numbers as well.
Reading
Your child will continue to build their close reading skills as we begin learning about theme. Students will continue to practice RACE strategies to answer comprehension questions.
