We will continue our Measurement unit with more conversion work.  Students are working on converting units of capacity, time as well as metric conversions.  Students will also continue working on understanding volume and determining volume. New information will always be available in Math Notebooks. Homework is due Friday.

**Math homework will be given Monday to be turned in on Friday.  This is taken as a grade if completed, so please use the homework to review concepts with your child.  Xtramath can also be used to increase math fluency.
Did you know:  The homework is a great way to see what we are doing in class.  The Khan Academy link on the blog has tutorial videos that can help you, the parent, as well as your child practice the strategies we teach in class.  Edmodo is also a good resource for tutorial videos and practice games.

ELA:

We will review figurative language.  There will be no Mentor Text.
Our Affixes of the Week are "circu", "equ/eqi", "ess".
Our vocabulary words for the week are: personification, simile, metaphor, idiom, hyperbole, proverb and adage, onomatopoeia, and alliteration.

Please utilize Edmodo for games and tutorial videos at home.

Please have your child review his or her Science Notebook.  Also, students should be working on the review packet given to them at school.  It will give them a refresher of the concepts we have covered before we move on to any new material.  Grades will come from the work and effort put in to these packets so please remind them to take it seriously.
