Math - We will continue to work on dividing and multiplying. Practicing multiplication drills frequently is a must. Math Antics - Long Division with 2-Digit Divisors Video: Long Division This is a great resource for reviewing division and other mathematical operations.
Homework - Turn in the next day when assigned. We will discuss all homework assignments the following day.
Assessments - All assessments are given Thursday or Friday and will cover material covered in class that week.
Reading - This week we will focus on reading strategies and continue our study of figurative language. Our focus will be metaphors, similes. idioms, adages, and proverbs. We will also begin our poetry unit.

Overview: We will spend this week reviewing the math standards that we have already covered. This includes powers of 10, writing and evaluating expressions, multiplying and dividing whole numbers and decimal numbers, and comparing numbers.

Fluency Practice: All students are asked to practice fluency at least 3 times a week using www.xtramath.org. Each student has their username and pin on a red sheet in the front of their agenda. If it asks for an email address, use: radiance.lewis@douglas.k12.ga.us

Assessments: There will be weekly assessments based on what has been covered in class. Assessments will include constructed response questions that should be answered using the 1-2-3 method that is being used in class. Any failing grades and be corrected and returned for partial credit.

Assessments: Students will be assessed weekly based on information covered in the classroom. Students are more than welcome to take their math notebook home to use as a study tool.
Failing grades can be done over for partial credit.
Homework: Math homework will be assigned on Monday and will be expected to be turned in on Friday morning. I will not collect homework until Friday morning.
We will begin practicing answering written response questions from narrative reading passages. Students will practice concluding stories, and rewriting certain parts of stories adding dialogue and details.

Mr. Waters' Classes
Math- We will be taking our mid-module test on Tuesday for Module 2. We will then begin working on division of decimals and continuing to work on multiplication.Homework: Homework is due the next day after being assigned, unless noted in the agenda.
Failing grades can be done over for partial credit.
Science- We are working diligently on classifying organisms in class, this week focusing on vertebrates. We will be using our interactive notebooks every day this week, so please make sure that your child has his/hers at school each day!
